AARP Oklahoma Responds to Historic OG&E Settlement Acceptance by Oklahoma Corporation Commission

It’s official: OG&E rates are going down. On June 19, officials with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission accepted a settlement agreement reached between OG&E and state regulators for a historic rate decrease.

Response from AARP Oklahoma:

AARP Oklahoma applauds the Corporation Commissioners for swiftly accepting the settlement agreement negotiated between AARP Oklahoma, the Attorney General’s Office and other parties attached to the agreement. This means OG&E customers will benefit from this reduction in July when people need it the most. “As a leading advocate for residential customers, AARP Oklahoma was glad to see the approval of this historic rate reduction that will bring much-needed relief to all OG&E customers,” said Sean Voskuhl, state director of AARP Oklahoma. “So many older Oklahomans are on a fixed income and a few dollars a month can mean the difference between filling a prescription, buying a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk, or paying their electric bill.”
