AARP Arkansas is hosting a series of conversations on how to strengthen Social Security and Medicare. The You’ve Earned a Say events are aimed at letting people who rely on the programs have a voice in strengthening them.

Nearly 40 percent of Arkansans age 65 and older rely on Social Security as their sole source of income.

AARP is fighting cuts to Social Security and pressing for reasonable cost-of-living increases for benefits. It also supports a bill that would require drug manufacturers to give rebates to Medicare Part D recipients who benefit from a low-income subsidy.

Find out about a live call-in show from 7 to 8 p.m. (CDT) July 18 on Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) and conversations across the state at the "upcoming events" listing on this page and at  facebook.com/AARPArkansas.
