Advocacy Manager Melissa Sinden Talks 2018 Legislative Session

The 2018 Georgia Legislative Session kicked off this week, and the General Assembly has already completed four legislative days of its 40-day session. We will see much activity over the coming weeks, and AARP Georgia looks forward to working with volunteers and community partners to advance our legislative priorities.

This year, among other efforts, we are supporting passage of the Georgia Family Caregivers Act, which will help family caregivers as their loved ones go into the hospital and as they transition home. We are also advocating on behalf of legislation that would afford Full Practice Authority to Advance Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), which will help increase access to care for those who need it most.

Be on the lookout for additional information and opportunities for you to be involved. If you have any questions, you can contact the Georgia State Office at GAAARP@aarp.org.
