Age-Friendly Macon-Bibb Receives Country’s First Five-Year Livable Communities Renewal

Macon-Bibb County becomes the first community to receive a five-year renewal as part of the worldwide network of Age-Friendly Communities. Tomorrow, AARP will acknowledge Macon-Bibb’s commitment and its multi-year plan to enhance accessibility, convenience, and, ultimately, become more user-friendly for all ages.

The AARP/WHO Age-Friendly Macon-Bibb Five-Year Renewal provides for continuous community sustainability, and that includes enhancing programs and looking at development and infrastructure that promote a walkable, livable, multimodal, and green lifestyle
