AARP New Hampshire is looking for an AmericaCorps VISTA to develop and implement a volunteer structure over the course of his/her service year.

The VISTA will begin by conducting a focus group with existing volunteers in Greater Manchester to solicit their input and suggestions and will then begin developing a grassroots civic volunteer recruitment plan for Greater Manchester.

This will include a vetting process for new volunteers and a leadership development plan and will take a pilot project approach to leverage community engagement and focus on identifying key volunteer leaders and grassroots volunteers.  The VISTA will also develop a monthly volunteer training program in conjunction with the volunteer recruitment plan.

Additionally, the VISTA will work on implementing a civic duty initiative for town meeting day in March 2014 and will have sustained tasks such as developing messaging points, training materials, and volunteer recruitment materials.

Applications will be accepted through October 11, 2013.  This is a full-time one-year position for a college graduate with the following skill set:  nonprofit management, social services, communications, recruitment, leadership, community organization and writing/editing.

AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that helps people 50 and older improve the quality of their lives.  AARP also helps people turn their goals and dreams into real possibilities, strengthens communities and fights for issues that matter most to families.
