AARP, Asian American Federation, Hispanic Federation, NAACP, Urban League Unveil New Research, Urge Legislative & Policy Solutions to Level Playing Field
AARP Age-friendly program to be integrated into Michigan Aging & Adult Service Agency's three-year state plan. Community conversations in 16 communities will attempt to identify the highest needs of, and greatest opportunities for, older adults.
AARP Connecticut has selected seven awardees for its second “Livable Communities Grant Program” dedicated to fund quick-action projects in Connecticut communities that will help make immediate improvements or jumpstart long-term progress that will support residents. AARP Connecticut funded four projects last year, the first of the program.
A public safety demonstration grant from AARP Louisiana has helped transform Longfellow Park in North Baton Rouge into a peaceful sanctuary among its treasured live oaks. The funding allowed BREC to install permanent up-lighting to 15 Live Oak Trees and provided for more pedestrian lighting along the walking trail at the park. The new features will be unveiled at a celebration on Tuesday, Dec.17. The festivities will include food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. This event is free and open to the public.
