Do you want to be more involved with your city, county and regional government – and your community? Then CIVICS 101 is for you!
AARP Oregon is joining Elders in Action this year to bring you this five-part training series and we invite you to join us.
Connect with other civic-minded people from your own city and region and learn about the structure and operation of various levels of government, engage with elected officials, and advocate for causes you believe in. In this series we will:
- Learn the basic elements of our local political system
- Have personal conversations with elected officials
- Visit city, county and regional offices
- Learn how to advocate for issues of concern to older adults
