AARP Colorado is excited to partner with local volunteers and the Pueblo Public Library’s Rawlings (Main) Branch to offer new ways to connect.

Starting this January, AARP volunteers will host a “Pull up a Chair!” social on the second Wednesday of the month from 10 to 11:30 a.m. MT at the library.

“Our team is excited to explore different topics and connect with the community where they are,” Jessica Krough, director of outreach, said. “By taking this new approach, volunteers and the community will benefit from being so close to an important resource like the library.”

Tech help and brain health are on the schedule for the first Pull up a Chair! event scheduled for January 14 at Pueblo Public Library’s Rawlings Branch (100 E Abriendo Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004). Pull up a Chair! is free to attend, and registration is not required. Participants can expect a laidback learning environment and opportunity to meet new people.

With this new programming model and location change on the horizon, AARP Colorado is ceasing operations at the AARP Resource Center (2401 W Northern Ave, Pueblo) effective December 5 and will not be able to offer document shredding services.

Krough said, “While we recognize this is a significant change for the community, we can offer many more meaningful connections through this new approach.”
