The Rules Have Changed: New Health Coverage for Adults

The rules have changed and now, more Virginians can get low-cost, quality health insurance that covers preventive care, doctor visits, prescriptions, hospitalizations, mental health care, laboratory and x-ray services, rehabilitative services, medical equipment, and more.

Beginning January 1, 2019, thousands of Virginians aged 19-64 will be able to get the health care they need so they can have peace of mind and greater financial security. It will help individuals to be more productive in their jobs and allows families to spend more time together so that they enjoy a high quality of life and don't have to worry about getting sick or having an accident.

If you or an adult you know needs health coverage, tell them to call 1-855-242-8282 or visit commonhelp.virginia.gov and get the answers on new adult eligibility for health coverage.

You can NOW apply for Virginia's new Health Care coverage if you are between the ages of 19 and 64, not in or eligible for Medicare, and meet income requirements which vary by the number of people in your household.

You may be eligible if you make less than:

Medicaid Family Size
