Donate to Help Older Floridians Hit Hard by Hurricane Michael

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., -- To kick off November, Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month and to help older Floridians recover from Hurricane Michael, AARP Florida is teaming up with the Alzheimer's Project to host the “Fill-A-Truck” event at the annual “Forget-Me-Not-Walk.”  Alzheimer’s Project. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Cascades Park in downtown Tallahassee will kick off a day of events that will support North Floridians living with Alzheimer’s Disease and older Floridians affected by the hurricane.

Hurricane Michael has devastated the eastern Florida Panhandle. Multiple organizations across the state have come to help rebuild and support communities.  But while all North Floridians have been affected by Hurricane Michael, 50-plus residents may have been hit especially hard.  AARP will be accepting donations to send to older Floridians as they recover.

Please consider donating: adult incontinent supplies, disposable pads, baby wipes, rash guard ointment/cream, nutrition drinks such as Boost and Ensure, water, flashlights/batteries, hygiene products, towels, bug spray, cleaning supplies, paper towels, snacks, and non-perishable food items.

The “Forget-Me-Not-Walk” event will be from 1 p.m. - 3p.m. Donators will be able to fill trucks during that time.  Please register for the event.
