AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is looking to expand its team of volunteers in Oahu and the Neighbor Islands for the upcoming tax season. Approaching its 50 th year, Tax-Aide offers free tax filing help to anyone, especially those 50 and older, who can’t afford a tax preparation service. Tax-Aide volunteers make a difference in their communities by assisting many older, lower-income taxpayers who might otherwise miss out on the credits and deductions they’ve earned.

AARP Foundation Women's Scholarship Program
Two Hawaii residents have received scholarships totaling $3,000 in AARP Foundation’s sixth annual Women’s Scholarship Program.  The scholarships provide opportunities for low-income 50-plus women by funding education, training, and skills upgrades that can lead to better employment and increased financial security.  Nationally, a total of 46 scholarships valued at $175,000 were awarded in increments of $500 to $5,000 depending on financial need and the cost of the education or training program.
