Health Action to Conduct Session on Basics of Medicare

Health Action New Mexico, in partnership with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, is bringing a special training session on the basics of Medicare to the Albuquerque Area.

This free program will be held Wednesday, June 14 th, from 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Community Meeting Hall, 215 Locust NE, Albuquerque, 87102.

The program will cover the basics of Medicare, including who is eligible and when to sign up as well as the four basic parts of Medicare – Parts A, B, C and D – and how they work.

Participants will also receive tips on staying healthy, review what preventative tests and screenings are covered by Medicare, and learn how chronic care management services -- a new component -- can benefit people with Medicare. Discussions will also include how local, state and federal agencies can assist families with Medicare.
