Hurricane Michael barreled across the Gulf of Mexico and took direct aim at the Florida-Alabama Panhandle.

The destructive winds, rain, and unprecedented flooding put millions at risk. Then the storm swept across Georgia and the Carolinas – weaker, but bringing more rain and wind to communities still reeling from last month's Hurricane Florence. It will be days before people will be able to fully assess the devastation to their homes and communities.
