Here's Where to Shred Unwanted Documents

Tax season is a good time to get rid of unwanted documents to keep scammers from stealing your identity and money. AARP Louisiana offers two free shredding events next month.

In New Orleans on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., bring sensitive documents to the AARP Community Resource Center, at 3502 S. Carrollton Ave. Register at aarp.cvent.com/NOShredding2019 or call 877-926-8300.

In Baton Rouge, bring paperwork on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., to Whole Foods Market, at 7529 Corporate Blvd. Register at aarp.cvent.com/BRShredding2019 or by calling 877-926-8300.

Suggested items include bank statements, canceled checks and receipts. Residents may bring up to three boxes for shredding.
