AARP Kansas Volunteers

AARP Kansas invites you to join our team and become one of the growing number of AARP volunteers across Kansas.  Our Executive Council oversees the direction of AARP Kansas’ work, while the Diversity Council ensures that all our activities are inclusive. Our advocacy volunteers work to better the lives of 50+ Kansans by improving the laws that impact all as they age and our community outreach volunteers work tirelessly to make their communities more livable.

One group of volunteers that is a relatively new group from across the state is our Volunteer Support Team (VST). Once a month, this high-energy team meets for a full day of fun and work in Topeka. Long-time volunteer Ann Garvin leads the crew, offering innovative ideas and support to perfect the AARP Kansas volunteer experience. Volunteer support work includes recruiting volunteers, acting as mentors for new volunteers, and inputting information into the volunteer database. Currently, the VST is mapping AARP’s impact across the state. When finished, they will use this information to develop a comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategy to help AARP reach our goals and have the most impact on our Kansas members. If you are interested in working with the Volunteer Support Team, please contact Andrea Bozarth at abozarth@aarp.org or 1-866-448-3619.
