AARP Kentucky recognizes Steve Polston with most prestigious volunteer award; Lynn Hammack & Suzanne Reasbeck, runners up
Steve Polston – who has spent years helping the homeless in Lexington – is the 2015 winner of the AARP Kentucky Andrus Award for Community Service. And the New Life Day Center, a non-profit facility founded by Polston, is a big winner too – earning a $2,000 check from AARP Kentucky.
As Americans paused to remember Pearl Harbor Day, local veterans – spanning WWII to Iraq –where recognized for their service to the nation. Ohio County Fiscal Court honored local veterans at its December meeting with their families and local AARP volunteers.
