Louisiana Senate Passes HB 281, the “Virtual Visitation” Bill

On Tuesday, May 17, House Bill 281, the "Virtual Visitation" Bill, passed the Louisiana Senate. Andrew Muhl, State Advocacy Director for AARP Louisiana, issued the following statement.

“AARP would li ke to t hank New Orleans City Councilwoman-elect Helena Moreno, Rep. Kirk Talbot, and the legislators who took a step in the right direction by supporting HB 281. This bill gives nursing home residents and their family members the option to install a video monitoring device in the resident’s room, allowing family caregivers to remain connected and be a part of their loved one’s care team. AARP maintains our commitment to protecting older adults and their families in Louisiana.”
