Enjoy Guided Nature Hikes

AARP Maine is hosting a series of free summer events. On Tuesday, July 24, enjoy a nature hike at Viles Arboretum in Augusta. The 90-minute tour begins at 10 a.m. at 153 Hospital St. To sign up, go to

Walk along the Kennebec River Rail Trail every Thursday, starting at the boat landing in Hallowell at 8:30 a.m. The walks go toward either Augusta or Farmington, and you can walk as far as you are comfortable.

Watch a full moon rise over the Eastern Trail during a guided hike on Sunday, Aug. 26. Meet at 8 p.m. at the trail’s parking lot at Pine Point Road in Scarborough or at Southern Maine Health Care’s rear lot off West Cole Street in Biddeford.
