Gearing up for the 2017 legislative session, AARP will host an information session on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Farm in Hallowell.
The AARP state office will honor volunteers and welcome new friends interested in advocacy to make life better for Mainers age 50-plus, including the state’s 230,000 AARP members. Participants will learn about age-friendly communities, paid leave for family caregivers, proposed budget cuts that jeopardize access to health care and prescription drug programs, and strategies to keep Social Security strong for all generations.
Space is limited, and registration is required. Email me@aarp.org or call 207-776-6310 to register.
