AARP Maine is teaming up with county sheriff’s offices to host free shred-and-med events, where residents can dispose of documents and unwanted medications.
Last year, Mainers shredded 80,000 pounds of papers and discarded thousands of expired or unused drugs at AARP events.
They will be in Bangor Airport Mall on Union Street, Friday, April 26, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; in Augusta, at the County Sheriff’s Office, Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and in Portland, at the County Sheriff’s Office, Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Other events will be held in Raymond/Windham, Machias, Bath, North Yarmouth, Lewiston and Blue Hill. Check aarp.org/me for a complete schedule and to RSVP, or call 866-554-5380.
