Nominate a community volunteer for AARP's 2019 Andrus Award! Named after AARP's founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, the Andrus Award honors outstanding individuals in every state who donate their time, skills and passion as a volunteer. Every year we gather at our annual Andrus Awards event and celebrate the dedication of Maryland's wonderful volunteers.
AARP Chapters across the state of Maryland are all vital parts of their community and take time to give back. We're proud to see the hard work they accomplish each and every year. As 2017 comes to an end we'd like to shine a spotlight on one chapter that has really gone above and beyond to volunteer in their community: Suitland Maryland Chapter 939.
The Where We Live: Communities for All Ages series highlights inspiring ideas and solutions from America's community leaders to improve their communities, respond to pressing issues, and build partnerships. These free AARP books are available in print and e-book formats.
