May 23, 2019 (11 am to 2 pm – Rain or Shine):
Event: Sounds of Summer at Oregon Ridge
 13401 Beaver Dam Rd, Cockeysville, MD 21030
Description: The Baltimore County Department of Aging presents Sounds of Summer featuring Beach Bumz. Come on out for an afternoon of door prizes, 50/50 raffles, picnics, beach themed fun, and so much more. The Beach Bumz, a beach tribute band, performs all of your favorite beach music from Jimmy Buffet to the Beach Boys. The music is sure to transport your thoughts to a sunny carefree day down by the shore. Pack a picnic lunch or pre-purchase a box lunch provided by Santoni’s Marketplace for $7.

The box lunch is available by preorder only and must be purchased by May 17.   Lunch choice is turkey, roast beef, tuna or veggie sandwich and includes chips, cookie, and soda. Please note: Box lunches are not available for purchase on the day of the event.  Concert tickets cost $4 and lunch $7 in advance beginning April 8 at your local senior center. Concert tickets will be available at the door for $5.  No refunds. Chairs not provided & no glass. For more information call 410-887-2040

May 25, 2019 (10 am to 2 pm): 
Event: Brain Health Fair
Bowie Community Center, 3209 Stoneybrook Drive Bowie, MD 20715
Description: The day is all about healthy brains/bodies in motion / healthy eating habits. We are open to the community at large with a focus on our senior residents. We have many volunteers that will be there sharing their information and skills such as massage therapy, music therapy, fitness for seniors, and de-stress management just to name a few. There will also be music, food, and raffles.


June 1, 2019 (8:30 am to 1 pm):
Event: The 13th Annual Holistic Health Seminar on Memory Loss
 Randallstown Community Center, 3505 Resource Drive, Randallstown, MD 21133
Description: The goals of the seminar are to learn about proactive lifestyle habits and to discuss diseases that disproportionately affect the community, such as heart disease and hypertension, kidney disease and diabetes, and cognitive decline. June 8, 2019 (10 am to 2 pm):
Event: 2019 Spring Harvest for the Hungry Food Drive
Various Location Throughout Maryland
Description: Hunger doesn’t take the summer off. Join us in donating food for local pantries! Volunteers around Maryland will hold “stuff a bus” events at select grocery stores in their own communities to encourage shoppers to purchase food donations and stuff the bus! As the founder of our food drive, Larry Adam, once said, “hunger knows no holiday.” Let’s continue our work to refill the shelves in local pantries! To find the nearest participating grocery store visit:

Event: PROTECT Week
Throughout Maryland
Description: During PROTECT Week, June 10-15, 2019 Marylanders across the State will have an opportunity to learn about the many forms of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation of older adults via the resources provided by local and national partners including the Maryland Department of Aging, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, CCCSMD, AARP Maryland and AARP Fraud Watch Network, Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs, Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service, Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition, the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection, and others. Event: At The Crossroads – Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia & Driving
Twinbrook Library, 202 Meadow Hall Dr, Rockville, MD 20851
Description: The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., produced this course to help family members decide when and how individuals with dementia should limit or stop driving. The goal is to prolong independence while protecting the safety of drivers with dementia. To attend this free seminar, you must register with Chris Lundy at 240-777-0240.
