Does Your Car Fit?

Buzz carfits Mary Jane

Driving safely isn’t just about keeping within the speed limit and signaling turns. It’s also about how well the car fits the driver.

Get your car in shape at a free CarFit checkup. A trained volunteer technician can help you make sure rearview mirrors are properly adjusted, pedals are within easy reach and you can see over the steering wheel. The technician will not make any changes to your vehicle, but may recommend some adjustments. The checkup takes about 20 minutes.

CarFit is an educational program created by the American Society on Aging in collaboration with AARP, AAA and the American Occupational Therapy Association. CarFit events are in Hagerstown, April 5; Cumberland, April 12; Rockville, April 19; and Baltimore, April 22. For details, go to car-fit.org, click on Older Drivers and search by state.
