Volunteer Intake Coordinator
AARP Maryland is looking for a friendly, engaging individual to help with welcoming and on-boarding new volunteers. The Volunteer Intake Coordinator has an important role in assisting the AARP Maryland Associate State Directors and Executive Council members in managing the process of bringing on the best and most reliable individuals to share their talents with AARP.
This volunteer will assist with managing and overseeing screening, placement and on-boarding efforts. The volunteer must be available Mondays and Wednesdays for 3 to 4 hours, have their own transportation, and be comfortable traveling to the Maryland State Office in Baltimore.

Volunteer Event Coordinator
AARP Maryland is looking for a volunteer to assist with event planning and coordination. The volunteer will need to be available between 15 to 20 hours a week, with a two-year commitment, to provide assistance within the office and/or in the community. This volunteer will help with, but are not limited to: scheduling and attending site visits to venues with staff or independently; communicating with staff and vendors regarding event logistics; and ultimately coordinating and organizing events from conception to completion. Desired qualifications include past event planning experience, understanding of food and beverage logistics, contracts, BEOs, and vendor relations; excellent reading and writing skills, and great interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate is someone who is creative and passionate about event planning, who is willing to take the initiative, hit the ground running and have fun! The volunteer must have their own transportation and live within close proximity for an easy commute to downtown Baltimore. All mileage, parking, and tolls will be reimbursed. Volunteer Technology Trainers
AARP Maryland is looking for two volunteers to help train others in the 50+ community on how they can get the most out of technology. The volunteer will need to be available 4-6 hours per week with a one-year commitment. The volunteer will help with projects including but not limited to: coordinating technology workshops within the community at senior centers, libraries, and or other community based organization facilities; assist with building technology curricula and PowerPoint presentations on how to use smartphones and apps, social media, and computer courses; conduct training for other volunteer instructors, and leading courses within the community. Desired qualifications include excellent reading and writing skills; great interpersonal skills, understanding of Android or Apple devices, advanced experience with phone and computer applications; and the passion to make these courses a fun learning experience for all. The volunteer must have their own transportation and be willing to travel around the state of Maryland.
