AARP and the U.S. Small Business Administration will join forces to improve the chances for success of “encore entrepreneurs” – people 50 and older who are starting a business – at free workshops in Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids and Lansing during April.
Metro Detroit is among the most dangerous communities in the nation for pedestrians, ranking 11th most dangerous out of the 51 largest metro areas, a new report released by the National Complete Streets Coalition, a program of Smart Growth America, said.
Take thousands of 60-and-older Metro Detroiters who are no longer able to drive a car. Add the fact that mass transit in the area is spotty, at best, and you have a dire need for senior transportation services.
