AARP Montana will reach out to military veterans and their families June 27-28 at the Missoula Veterans Stand Down. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the Missoula Armory.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in cooperation with other agencies and nonprofit organizations, Stand Down provides services for veterans in need, such as food, shelter, health screenings and information about community resources. Attendees can visit the AARP Montana booth for tips on how to protect themselves against fraud.

According to the VA, Montana is home to the second-highest number of veterans per capita in the nation.
