AARP Nevada announced today it has hired Jacqueline Barnett as its newest Community Outreach Director based in its Las Vegas state office.
Barnett, who will be charged with engaging AARP’s active and growing volunteer and community, will focus on several key initiatives for the organization. Barnett will lead AARP's initiative to address the needs of caregivers, head up the organization’s community presence in the workplace, and work closely on AARP’s multicultural activities. Barnett will also oversee AARP Nevada’s “fun with a purpose” events like Movies for Grownups, Cinemaniacs movie club, and other social and cultural events.
“Jacqueline brings with her an enthusiasm and energy that I know will engage and excite AARP members, volunteers, and community partners,” said AARP Nevada State Director Maria Dent. “With her prior business experience, Jacqueline will impart her vision on our successful work across our communities.”
Barnett has prior experience in the business and education world. With a focus on marketing and community engagement, she has worked in a wide variety of businesses including gaming, pet care, and theater. Barnett originally hails from Michigan and is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
