State House 2019 from Advocacy.jpg

New Hampshire is #50 when it comes to offering services that help keep people in their homes and communities as they age. We must allocate resources differently as New Hampshire ages – the population 85 and older will triple by 2050. That’s why the AARP New Hampshire Capital City Task Force is working on legislative initiatives to protect the aging population.

Some of the important aging legislative issues include the high cost of prescription drugs; livable communities; choices in long-term care; caregiving; housing; and financial security.

The Capital City Task Force is comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers interested in aging issues. During the legislative session in Concord, CCTF members meet once a month to discuss issues of importance and monitor state legislation. Working in collaboration with AARP New Hampshire staff, CCTF members may do one or more of the following: attend/ testify at legislative hearings, monitor legislation, talk with elected representatives, and craft letters to the editor.
