It’s a love thy neighbor treat: a pre-release screening of St. Vincent, starring Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy, Jaeden Lieberher and Naomi Watts. The movie starts at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 26 at the Cinemagic & Imax in Hooksett.  Tickets are limited so reserve your seats today.

In St. Vincent, Maggie (Melissa McCarthy), a single mother moves into a new home in Brooklyn with her 12-year-old son, Oliver (Jaeden Lieberher.) Forced to work long hours, she has no choice but to leave Oliver in the care of their new neighbor, Vincent (Bill Murray), a retired curmudgeon with a penchant for alcohol and gambling. An odd friendship blossoms between the improbable pair. Together with a pregnant stripper named Daka (Naomi Watts), Vincent brings Oliver along all the stops that make up his daily routine – the race track, a strip club, and the local dive bar. Vincent helps Oliver grow to become a man, while Oliver begins to see in Vincent something that no one else is able to: a misunderstood man with a good heart.

“Don’t miss out on a chance to join us at this free screening of St. Vincent,” said AARP New Hampshire Associate State Director for Outreach Sarah Kelsea. “It’s all part of AARP’s Movies for Grownups which spotlights and celebrates movies with storylines, performances and filmmaking that have a distinct relevance to the 50+ audience.”

While the movie is free, AARP is encouraging moviegoers to bring nonperishable food items to donate to New Hampshire Food Bank.  Even in a wealthy state like New Hampshire, one in nine residents is food insecure and in Greater Manchester, one in five children is food insecure.

You might want to hurry as tickets won’t last. View the movie trailer online and then reserve your seats!

When you’re at the theatre, meet AARP staff, volunteers and other members during the event. Don’t forget to stop by the AARP table to learn more about what AARP is doing in your community.
