Candlelight Stroll, an annual holiday tradition at Strawbery Banke since 1979; showcases 350 years of seasonal and holiday traditions against the backdrop of the Museum’s furnished historic houses. On these weekend evenings, the Museum grounds glow with hundreds of lighted candle lanterns, the houses are adorned with thousands of handmade decorations crafted from live greens and dried flowers and herbs collected from the Museum gardens, and the air is filled with the sound of holiday music and scent of woodsmoke from the bonfire.
Elf the Musical is a hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bags of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his true identity and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This holiday story is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf.
