Todd Fahey Appointed State Director

AARP New Hampshire, with its 228,000 members, announces the appointment of Todd Fahey to the position of State Director.  Fahey , a New Hampshire native, will provide strategic guidance to staff and volunteers, give leadership to advocacy teams, and establish and maintain networks with the business community, nonprofit sector as well as state and local government officials throughout New Hampshire.  Nearly one in six Granite Staters are AARP members.

“After practicing law for many years, I look forward to the new challenges of leading one of New Hampshire’s most important and influential nonprofit organizations during a critical time when New Hampshire’s population is aging.  I also look forward to using AARP’s resources in creative and innovative ways to make our state a place where everyone lives with dignity and purpose and fulfills their goals and dreams,” said Fahey.

Prior to joining AARP, Fahey practiced law for more than two decades, most recently as a director and shareholder with the Concord law firm Orr & Reno, PA.  Fahey specialized in helping nonprofit organizations to define, fulfill and perpetuate their missions.  During his time as a practicing lawyer, he helped to organize and acted as legal counsel to some of the state’s most influential and respected nonprofit and business organizations.

On several occasions, Todd was appointed by New Hampshire courts to act as a special trustee to stabilize large and small nonprofits and charitable trusts in distress.  He has also run small businesses and engaged in various entrepreneurial endeavors.  Todd brings an academic, practical and unique experience to AARP in his service to the organization and its members.

Fahey currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities of New Hampshire and has served on various other nonprofit boards including HHN Foundation, Concord Family YMCA, and Riverbend Community Mental Health.  He served on the Town of Bow Zoning Board of Adjustment and was a past Chair of the Rumford Society of the Granite United Way.

Todd holds a Bachelor’s in English from Columbia College, Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law.
