AARP Kansas is pleased to announce that Magda Garret has joined our team. Magda, who lives in Wichita, will work out of our office in the Atwater Neighborhood Resource Center. The office is located at 2755 E. 19th Street N., Wichita.
Magda has 22 years of experience as a social worker in a variety of settings. She most recently worked with the PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) in Colorado. Prior to that, she worked with terminally ill patients at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and the Progressive Health Care Hospice, both in Wichita. In addition, Magda has experience working as a mental health specialist for infants and toddlers at Rainbows United, Inc. in Wichita.
Magda’s volunteer activities include serving as past-president of the Board of Directors of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center of Reno County in Hutchinson and as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteer and member of the Board of Directors of Vision of Hope, also in Hutchinson.
Magda holds a Masters of Social Work from the University of Kansas, a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences from Sterling College and an Associate of Arts in Human Relations from Hutchinson Community College.
