Lisa Schneider, 2014 Andrus Award recipient.

Do you know an extraordinary volunteer age 50 or older? Show your appreciation by nominating him or her for the 2015 AARP Utah Andrus Award for Community Service. The annual Andrus Award for Community Service is AARP’s most prestigious and visible volunteer award. It recognizes individuals who are sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich their communities in ways that are consistent with AARP’s mission, vision, and commitment to volunteer service, and that inspire others to volunteer.

Last year AARP Utah honored Lisa Schneider for her volunteer service with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Other nominees volunteered for food banks, hospitals, wilderness areas, and animal shelters. There is no limit to the variety and range of volunteer activities that may be considered for recognition.

According to AARP Utah State Director Alan Ormsby, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity each year to recognize outstanding volunteers from around the state who serve their fellow Utahns in a multitude of ways. As an organization that was founded on the principal of providing service to others, we look forward to highlighting the achievements of the Andrus Award recipient and fellow nominees who make this state a great place to live.”

Nominations are accepted from May 1, 2015 to June 2, 2015.
