Nominate Worthy Volunteers for Andrus Award

Volunteer Image

When older adults use their time and talents to enrich the lives of others, AARP Idaho strives to recognize these volunteers.

Nominations are open for the 2019 Andrus Award for Community Service, honoring Idahoans who make a difference in their communities as volunteers.

The award, named for longtime educator and AARP founder Ethel Percy Andrus, seeks nominees 50-plus who exemplify the association’s commitment to volunteer service and whose work improves the community and inspires others to donate their time.

Nominations will be accepted through July 15. For information and nomination forms, go to aarp.org/id or call 888-687-2277.

There’s a personal reward for serving others. Research shows that when older people volunteer, they experience enhanced physical and mental health.
