RALEIGH -- As a way to thank and honor those who served, AARP is hosting a free reception open to the public from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, March 13, at the North Carolina Museum of History.  The reception is in conjunction with the Museum’s Picturing Nam exhibit, a free exhibit made possible by the National Archives.

For decades, the public drinking water supply at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina was contaminated with hazardous chemicals. Countless Veterans were unknowingly exposed to these chemicals.

Veterans Day is around the corner and in honor of Vetera ns, you’ll learn more about Flags Across the Nation, an organization that is creating opportunities for children and adults to get involved in creating patriotic art, letter writing, making blankets and demonstrating respect for the American flag while giving support to our troops, wounded warriors, recovering soldiers and veterans with art, letters, blankets, flags and art/photo contests and exhibits.

Veterans Promotion
AARP is hosting a Celebration of Freedom on Veterans Day weekend to honor North Carolinians who served in the armed forces. The free event will be Saturday, Nov. 12, from noon to 8 p.m., at the Battleship North Carolina Park in Wilmington.
This week on “ Without Limits,” you’ll meet Bob Roberts, one many who is doing his part to disrupt aging and dispel the notion of what it means to age in America.
