Oklahoma Corporation Commission Votes #No2PSO and $130 Million Proposed Rate Hike

Guess what PSO customers… you said #No2PSO and the Corporation Commission listened!  PSO asked for $130 million rate increase, but the Corporation Commission said no and, instead, agreed to a $14 million increase. You raised your voice and the Corporation Commission listened. Plus, since you’ve been paying $75 million in PSO interim rates since January, you will now be eligible for a refund. AARP Oklahoma is proud to fight for affordable utilities and for you!

AARP Oklahoma is the leading consumer voice on utility issues and we're going to need you to raise your voice again before they raise your rates. Up next, OG&E is also seeking an additional $92.5 million from customers. One part of the proposed request could tack on an additional $7.22 per month to OG&E customer’s bills!   Another part of the request involves doubling the current ‘customer charge’. This charge is the amount of money owed OG&E, just for being a customer, even if you use no electricity. Doubling this charge from $13 to $27 would mean that a customer would owe OG&E $327 a year before they even turn on a light! The Corporation Commission is expected to rule on this case by the end of the year.
