This Spring, AARP is kicking off our 5th year of On Tap events where we partner with local breweries to collect food to support local food shelves. AARP members have contributed thousands of pounds of food while visiting over 20 different breweries over the last four years. All members donating food have had the opportunity to enjoy a free beer from the participating breweries as well as receiving tours of the facility conducted by knowledgeable brewery staff.
Again in 2019 AARP will hold 6 ON TAP events, three in the spring and three in the fall. The spring events will highlight breweries in the northern metro area, while the fall events will highlight breweries in the southern metro area.
Check out our Spring Schedule:
Invictus Brewery in Blaine was the first of six AARP On Tap brewery events this year. Over 60 AARP members socialized and drank quality craft brews. Lively conversations included talk about pickle ball, winter travel, the next On Tap events and more. Charitable donations of non-perishable food items and money were sent to Southern Anoka County Community Assistance food shelf. Watch this space for AARP On Tap updates. Join us for a craft brew and a brewery tour.
Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative
“Where Time stops and Community begins” is the founding vision for Broken Clocks Brewery. There was a feeling of community as over ninety AARP members enjoyed great service, friendly conversations, and quality craft beers. We are guessing that many will return. Up next is St. Paul Brewery (formerly Flat Earth Brewery) on Thursday, May 23!
May 23rd, 2019
5 PM to 7 PM
688 Minnehaha Ave E, St Paul, MN
Bring a non-perishable food item or make a monetary donation and AARP will buy you a craft brew and give you a tour of the brewery. AARP volunteers will welcome you and provide information about how AARP is serving the needs of adults 50+. Participants have shared that they truly enjoyed socializing with other 50+ adults.
AARP would like to hear your input on our On Tap events. Please take a minute to complete our event survey.
