Open Enrollment in Health Plans Begins

Open enrollment in health care insurance marketplaces starts this month.

AARP South Carolina reminds residents that the Palmetto Project, an independent nonprofit, is a great source of information on health care options and choices. South Carolina’s uninsured rate has dropped consistently, from 16 percent in 2013 to 9 percent in 2016, according to the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation.

Palmetto Project has championed the rights of consumers to have free access to fair and accurate information about health insurance coverage choices in the federal Health Insurance Marketplace and SC Healthy Connections Medicaid.
