The state attorney general’s office and AARP Vermont are presenting a series of fraud forums to help residents and their loved ones protect themselves against the latest scams and schemes.

A panel of experts on consumer fraud is traveling the state this
summer, talking to residents about how to spot some of the most recent and widespread scams.

People 55 and older represent more than 80 percent of investment and lottery fraud victims, said Greg Marchildon, AARP Vermont state director. “Being informed is the best defense against getting duped.”
