Rockingham County Aging Plan Needs Assessment

AARP is working to make North Carolina communities better places for people of all ages.  Two major Triad Counties, Guilford and Forsyth have recently joined A ARP's Network of Age Friendly Communities and are working on changes that will make it easier for people to age in place.

Neighboring Rockingham County is also working on improvements. To help the County set the right priorities, the Rockingham County Planning Committee for Services to the Elderly is asking for your input in assessing the needs of people 60 years of age and older.

AARP Associate State Director Mark Hensley said, "Addressing the needs of older adults benefits all ages. We are seeing momentum across the region to prepare for the increased number of older adults in the state. Improving areas like walkability, transportation options, access to health care and the use of open spaces, ultimately makes the region more attractive to current and future residents."








Rockingham County is looking to address needs related to housing, health care, social inclusion and helping residents live in their homes as long as possible.
