Join us for Virginia’s first statewide, faith-based conference on aging!

The Montgomery County League of Women Voters and the Lifelong Learning Institute at Virginia Tech invite the public to participate in Great Decisions, an annual eight-week nonpartisan community discussion on international affairs. This award-winning program, using materials prepared by the Foreign Policy Association, is in its 63rd year and is presented in many locations nationwide.

From Feb. 1 through April 18, AARP Foundation provides free tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, in its 49th year, is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service, offering free tax preparation help to anyone, especially people age 50 and older who cannot afford a tax preparation service.

AARP FOUNDATION TAX-AIDE WILL PROVIDE FREE TAX

The recent cold temperatures may have left some low-income North Dakotans with home heating costs that are higher than their budget can handle. The North Dakota Department of Human Services reminds low-income individuals and families and seniors on limited fixed incomes that help is available through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

More than 200 attend free screening of box office hit Hidden Figures

AARP Connecticut is offering AARP members and their guests an opportunity to catch the Bridgeport Sound Tigers hosting the Hartford Wolf Pack a significantly discounted rate of $16 per Center Ice ticket (regular price of $36). In addition, the first 200 guests at the showdown between in-state hockey rivals on Friday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m., to visit the AARP table in the concourse will receive a voucher for a free popcorn.
