In what has become a welcomed yearly resource, the AARP Foundation is again providing free tax assistance and preparation for taxpayers with low to moderate income through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, in its 49th year, is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service, giving special attention the older population. You do not need to be a member of AARP or a retiree to use this service.

AARP Delaware and the University of Delaware are disrupting aging through a creative collaboration which is shaping up to help many Delawareans reimagine their lives in some very powerful ways.

Tallahassee, Fla. — More than 700 older Big Bend residents can rest a little easier in 2017, thanks to a $5,000 grant provided by AARP Florida to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Big Bend.

In many urban and rural areas, it isn’t always easy to buy fresh, healthy food. The AARP state office is part of the Indiana Healthy Food Access Coalition, which aims to make it easy to buy fresh fruits and vegetables and whole-grain products in every neighborhood.

If it’s February, it must be time for the Agricultural and Food Fair in St. Croix. AARP Virgin Islands will be at the Ag Fair Grounds, Feb. 18-20, enjoying the festivities and talking to people about what AARP does to advocate for Virgin Islanders 50-plus.

Florida’s population has the highest percentage of retirees, and nearly a fifth of Floridians are 65 or older. Cities, towns and rural areas across the state are responding by joining the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities.
