Every day in Hawaii a silent army of family caregivers performs a great labor of love by helping their parents and spouses remain at home. An estimated 154,000 family caregivers in the islands help older loved ones with everything from medications and medical care, meals, bathing and dressing, chores, and much more. While Hawaii’s caregivers wouldn’t have it any other way, they need a little support.
Helena, Mont., October 6, 2015 –AARP Foundation is looking to build its team of volunteers for its Tax-Aide program. Tax-Aide is a free tax assistance and preparation program for taxpayers with low to moderate income through the AARP Foundation.

AARP would like to inform you of the first-annual Bone and Joint EXPO. The EXPO is a one-day, free health education event that brings the best and most innovative products and services to individuals living with arthritis, bone and joint issues, and other chronic health conditions! This community event gathers patients, caregivers, medical professionals and the health and wellness industry for interactive workshops, expert presentations, hands-on demonstrations and wellness screenings.
AARP Connecticut and Quinnipiac University will host a free Scam Jam on Monday, Nov. 2, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the University’s Mount Carmel Auditorium, 275 Mount Carmel Ave. in Hamden, CT. Sponsored by the AARP Fraud Watch Network, Scam Jam is your opportunity to get inside the mind of a con artist and learn how to protect yourself and your family from common types of fraud and scams happening right in Connecticut.
