See free screening of 'The Butler' Feb. 25 in Detroit

Join AARP Michigan for a Black History Month special event: A free screening of Lee Daniels’ The Butler on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Redford Theatre, 17360 Lasher Rd., Detroit.

The movie tells the story of Cecil Gaines, who served eight presidents during his tenure as a butler in the White House, against the backdrop of the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War and other major events that affect this man’s life, family and American society.

The presentation is part of the AARP Movies for Grownups program.

The event is free but advance registration is required. To RSVP, go to http://aarp.cvent.com/TheButler_Detroit or call 1-877-926-8300 on or before Feb. 24.

The first 500 guests can get free refreshments.
