Take this simple step to help protect yourself from identity theft by having sensitive personal documents shredded for free on Saturday, October 6, in Fargo and Bismarck.

A shredding truck will be at each location and shred documents on site between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. The event is open to the public. There is a limit of two boxes.

The Fargo event will be held in the southwest parking lot at West Acres Shopping Center, 3902 13th Ave. S.

The Bismarck event will be held in the south parking lot at the Gateway Mall, 2700 State St.

Documents to be shredded should be removed from binders, but staples, paper clips, CDs and floppy discs are okay to be shredded.

Take a key step in identity protection by shredding and properly disposing of sensitive paper documents as well as CDs and floppy discs.

This free shredding event is sponsored by AARP North Dakota, MinnKota EnviroServices, Sure Shred, The Bismarck Tribune and The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, Gateway Mall and West Acres Shopping Center.

Please Note: If the shredding trucks fill to capacity before 12 noon, you will still have the opportunity to securely dispose of your documents in secure bins provided by Sure Shred and MinnKota EnviroServices. Those documents will be shred at the shredding company’s plant.
