Stamp Out Hunger: Watch Your Mailbox, Fill a Bag With Food, and Receive a Free Pass to Life@50+Boston

Front image_red_cropped
This week, 900,000 households across Greater Boston will receive a Stamp Out Hunger postcard and a red plastic bag (like the one shown here). The cards and bags are being delivered by members of the National Letter Carriers Association as part of their 22nd annual Stamp Out Hunger campaign, of which AARP is a sponsor.

Want to do something small to make a big difference in battling hunger in Massachusetts? And earn a free one-day pass to AARP’S upcoming national event, Life@50+Boston?

This week, watch your mailbox for a Stamp Out Hunger postcard and a red plastic bag (see image at left, and below), which are being delivered to 900,000 households across Greater Boston this week by members of the National Letter Carriers Association.

By filling the red bag with non-perishable food items, you’ll be helping AARP Foundation and the National Letter Carriers Association’s 22nd annual Stamp Out Hunger program, which provides assistance to hungry Massachusetts residents and others throughout the county. Nationwide, filling these red bags with non-perishable food items helps millions of Americans, including nearly 9 million older adults age 50-plus. These adults often are forced to make the impossible choice between eating and paying for medicine, utilities or other basic needs.

Once you’ve filled your bag with non-perishable food items, place it by your mailbox before your next scheduled mail delivery and it will be picked up by your letter carrier. The food items will then be donated to local food banks in your area by the letter carriers

If you don’t have the red Stamp Out Hunger bag (see image), please use any grocery bag instead and place it by your mailbox before your next mail delivery.
