Statewide Medicaid Coverage Forums

Statewide Public Medicaid Coverage Forums Schedule

Proposed changes to Kentucky’s Medicaid program are under review by federal officials at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In August, Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Department for Medicaid submitted the state’s 1115 Medicaid Waiver to CMS. The demonstration waiver, Kentucky HEALTH (Helping to Engage and Achieve Long Term Health), is now open for the federal public comment period until October 8, 2016.

Medicaid Forums

A series of eight public forums are schedule across the state to share what the proposed changes may mean for Kentuckians. The non-profit group, Kentucky Voices for Health, is hosting the sessions to answer questions, better inform the public, and share more consumer Medicaid resources. Kentucky Voices for Health's infographic detailing changes in the proposed 1115 Waiver is available for download (PDF) ky_medicaid_expansion_handout_final-9-2-16

More details on the proposed 1115 Waiver (Kentucky HEALTH) is available online from Kentucky’s Department for Medicaid Services, here: http://chfs.ky.gov/dms/kh. The public and other stakeholders may submit comments on the 1115 Waiver during the 30-day federal comment period using the online CMS form, here: http://bit.ly/2chgml2. All public comments must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. ET October 8, 2016.
