AARP in San Diego was pleased to participate for the first time in the prestigious event "Celebrando Latinas, 2017," the largest Spanish Conference in the country, and that already for six years provides an enriching experience of motivation and learning through educational workshops on business, health, beauty, legal issues, personal development, and family. The Conference was held on Saturday, July 15 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. We presented the financial study “CA Dreaming or Struggling” that speaks about the financial security of generation X and baby boomers. In addition, we have a booth where our local volunteers shared with conference’s attendees about our Fraud Watch, Financial Security, and Caregiving campaigns. The event is organized every year by the newspaper El Latino, San Diego.

AARP in San Diego sponsored the Summer Jams with Jessica Sanchez Concert, which was held July 29 th at the San Diego Performing Arts Center. The event was hosted by the Philippine American Club for Teens (P.A.C.T) and the proceeds from the concert benefited the Bahay PayAsa (House of Hope), helping rehabilitate teens in need.
