Free "Summer of Health" workshops in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE -- AARP in Charlotte is presenting a series of free workshops this month to help people prepare the challenges of caregiving and long-term care as well as an overview of Medicare, from how to choose a plan and the benefits Medicare offers, to what changes to the program may come in the future. The events are free and open to the public, but registration is requested.


Prepare to Care
This workshop includes information on how to have vital conversations with older family members, organize important documents, assess your loved one's needs and locate important caregiver resources.

The Road to Medicare
Choosing a Medicare plan is an important, but often overwhelming, decision. Get an overview that is particularly helpful for those who will soon be eligible for Medicare.

The presenter is a trained volunteer counselor of the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP). SHIIP is a division of the NC Department of Insurance that provides free, unbiased Medicare counseling in all 100 counties of North Carolina.
