Voter turnout typically drops during midterm elections, and that means older voters can have a powerful impact.
Voters in the Mountain State’s capital city will elect a new mayor on Nov. 6. AARP West Virginia will host a Charleston mayoral debate Tuesday, Oct. 16. The debate will be televised on WVAH-TV (Fox 11) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and livestreamed on social media.

Michigan’s general election Nov. 6 includes races for governor, a U.S. Senate seat, all 14 U.S. House seats, 148 state legislative seats, secretary of state and attorney general.

Voting dates In the nation’s capital, eligible citizens can register to vote online until Oct. 16. Mailed applications must be received by the Board of Elections by the same date or in person up to and on Election Day,  Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Elections 2018 #2
AARP is sponsoring three televised debates this fall with candidates for governor and U.S. senator. The debates will cover issues of interest to Mainers 50-plus—Social Security, Medicare, caregiving, prescription drug costs and affordable housing.
